Bulgari In Press

Selected local press gathered for cocktails and dinner last week on express invitation by the ever-so-charming Bulgari Resort’s general manager Robert Lagerwey. Living up to their credo of practicing “pure presence” was a welcoming team of resort hosts who ferried guests to the super-stylish cliff-side villas in some very sexy bronzed golf buggies. Tons of dramatic attention to detail in Italian-esque black terrazzo and rich timber fill the resort and intimate villas, which, although small in size, deliver big on prestige and pleasure. Cocktails and a six-course dinner crafted by talented Exec Chef Andrew Skinner were served on signature communal tables in the resort’s Sangkar restaurant. The seared foie gras with chanterelles and portabello mushroom cappuccino was fabulous as was the tataki of yellow fin tuna and kinamani lime tartlets with melon and mint salad. The roasted Black Angus beef tenderloin lost most of its roast and tenderness but fortunately for all did not spoil the merriment of the overall dinner.  Fine Italian wines flowed superbly as resort management beautifully worked the room. Guests to be impressed included Christian Vanneque, Stuart Wilford, Agatha Salmun, Adam Fenton, Ari Gunadi, Maria Maringka, Sophie Digby, Noriko Osumi and Made Wardani.
