Alila’l bit of Rock n Roll

Alila Ubud was rocking a couple of weeks ago to celebrate the launch of their first independent selection of songs CD. A huge crowd, including the sinfully glam rock set, made their way to the equally glam resort to hear some of the regions best independent musicians, including homegrown and seriously hot jazz blues guitarist Made J, fresh from a stint in New Orleans (that boy sure knows how to twang his thang!). The event was intoxicating in more ways than one: great food from new Exec Chef Christian Fogliani, great friends Ana Deroiij, Stephane Senfey, Michael Travers, Steve Jeisman, live music and a fantastic CD, which covers the gamut of electronic, jazz, blues and pop. Terrific fun catching up with old pal Alila Hotels & Resorts MD Frederic Flageat-Simon, who hosted a few of us lucky ones to dinner on the evening with his gorgeous wife Kristina and Alila GM Amanda Pummer with husband Jamie. Seen getting into live gear on the night were Zenergy’s Jennifer and Made, Suicide Glam’s Sarah Forbes, Hello Bali’s Jill Gocher, The Yak’s Sophie Digby, IComms’ Louise Beaty, Jane and Edi Walters, The Hydrants’ lead singer, Maurizio (congrats on the new recording deal), Ben Ripple of Big Tree Farms and Michael Hanusz from Equinox Publishing.
