What can be done to improve Bali’s image?
The most important aspect of tourism in Bali is its culture, and therefore greater efforts should be made to preserve it and to make the Balinese aware that they should not forsake their traditional values for other influences. Bali’s culture is the only real asset the island has.
Are you satisfied with the current level of security?
I’m satisfied enough. People coming to Bali from other parts of Indonesia have to register now, and I think that’s good for security.
Is the central government doing enough to improve Indonesia?
I think they have tried to improve the country, but I don’t see any progress at all. A lot more effort is required in areas such as the economy and the law.
What are the challenges that lie ahead?
In order for us to grow and advance, we must be able to pay off the national debt.
Where’s the hottest spot in Bali right now?
I think places with a natural and beautiful view are amazing – places like Bedugul, Kintamani and Batur. (BT/AS)
