Qantas to Codeshare on Airnorth’s Services to Bali

DENPASAR (BT) ~ Starting from October 17, Qantas will be codesharing on Airnorth’s two weekly return services from Darwin to Bali. This new agreement follows Qantas’ earlier decision to withdraw from the route.

Airnorth is based in Darwin and operates more than 260 scheduled departures every week. It services nine domestic and three international destinations and carries more than 200,000 passengers every year. The scheduled service to Denpasar will be operated on 76-seat Embraer aircraft.

“We will be contacting all passengers currently booked on Qantas services to advise them of the change, and either rebooking them on the new Airnorth flights or offering them a full refund,” said Qantas Regional General Manager Northern Territory John Cason.

“Qantas Frequent Flyers will be able to earn and redeem points on the Airnorth codeshare services,” Cason added.

The Qantas Group (including Qantas, QantasLink and Jetstar) currently operates 134 weekly return services from Darwin to Adelaide, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

Separately, Air France announced this week that it will start operating codesharing flights with Qantas later this year from Singapore to Bali. (*01/BN)
