Quinn-tessentially Fifty and Fabulous

The exuberant Claire Quinn of Villa Sienna infamy hosted a 50th birthday bash to celebrate her half-century milestone on the poolside decks of Bali’s private members club, the Canggu Club, last week. Looking fabulous at 50, the New Zealand native who ran one of Australia’s premier advertising agencies together with husband Robin before descending on Bali shores, had a bevy of Aussies in tow who flew in from Mackay, Brisbane, New Zealand and Sydney for the shindig. Putting on the glitz for the evening was entertainment from beautiful young Balinese dancers from HOPE Children’s Orphanage in Dalung (whose education and welfare were incidentally sponsored by some very charitable international guests on the evening) and a show-stopping drag show featuring a bawdy “Brenda,” arresting “Angela” and salacious “Salsa,” who strutted their sequined stuff and batted their glittering false lashes to get the raucous crowd up on their feet and burning up the dance floor. A fabulous Indonesian feast followed with more dancing to a live band and refueling on copious amounts of intoxicating beverages. A traditional Maori Haka dance performed by the party girl’s brother Terry Garnett brought a homegrown flavor to the smashing event. Helping celebrate the evening amongst the 80-strong crowd were Steve Kenny and Ilse Guastivino, Marie and Alex Weiss, Nancy and Alaine Chenut, Angela Mcgilivray, Malcolm Warner, Andrew and Christine Folland, Jenny Creighton, Sharon White, Carolyn and Greg Neill, Jan and Grant Hedges, Pat Perrott, Jenny and Patrick Scott, Jann Fergus, Jill Burston and Stuart Hindle.
