Minister Urges Tri Hita Karana Law for Bali

DENPASAR ~ Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wacik has urged the Bali government to pass a law enforcing the Tri Hita Karana as a local government regulation for buildings.

According to Wacik, Tri Hita Karana is a Balinese religious concept related also to architecture – the construction of buildings in harmony with the environment.

“I suggest that the law be applied not only in tourism, but also in industrial activities,” he said.

Wacik presented Tri Hita Karana award last week to 16 tourist landmarks in Bali in six categories.

The award has been given out for seven consecutive years.
