TABANAN ~ Tower construction in Tabanan concerned citizens because it interfered with television reception in the Pujungan area, and people did not know where to report the problem, legislators said.

A member of the regional assembly, I Ketut Suwardana, said that laws regarding tower construction did not yet exist; in order to protect society, laws had to be made in order to address the situation.

The local government had to delay construction until proper laws were put in place to handle the matter, he added.

Another member of the regional assembly, Joni Darmawan, also said that tower construction had to stop until the legalities of the situation were thoroughly investigated.

“We’re ready to set regional regulations on tower construction. Until then, the building of the tower should cease,” Joni Darmawan said.
