Winehouse Abandons Drug Appeal
OSLO ~ British pop singer Amy Winehouse has decided not to appeal a fine she received in Norway in 2007 for drug possession, the prosecutor in the case said on Wednesday.
“Her lawyer called us and told us she withdrew her appeal, so that means the case is finished,” Rudolf Christoffersen said.
Winehouse, who had been scheduled to appear in a Norwegian court next week, had been arrested with husband Blake Fielder-Civil and her hairdresser in a hotel in Bergen in October 2007 for possession of seven grams of marijuana.
The 25-year-old Londoner – as well-known for her troubles with alcohol and drugs as for her chart-topping hits – was released after paying a 3,000-kroner (US$430) fine, which she later contested.Filed under: Arts & Entertainment
