Embattled Iranian President Seeks to Find Self Through Spa Treatments
De-stress: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrives in Bali for some R&R.
TEHRAN/LEGIAN ~ Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that years of international condemnation over his nuclear ambitions and Israel-bashing comments had left him seeking solace and an exploration of his inner-self, which he would attempt via spa treatments in Bali.
“The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran has booked himself in for a wide range of treatments at spas on the Indonesian island of Bali,” spokesman Mohammad Mohammed told The Bali Times from Tehran.
The hardliner was particularly interested in full-body scrubs using mango and sandalwood essences and coconut-scrapings exfoliation treatments as well as “exploring the possibility of experiencing a Bali Massage,” he said.
The president is understood to want to rejuvenate his mind and body ahead of what is expected to be a challenging presidential ballot on June 9 in which he is seeking re-election to a second term.
“The president is also curious about your spicy nasi goreng as he has heard that (US President Barack) Obama is an aficionado, and therefore he would like if possible to sample this Indonesian delicacy so as to be able to be on ethically oriented gastronomy terms with him,” Mohammed said.
“As long as it is not too fiery.”Filed under: Arts & Entertainment
