Australian on Trial over Marijuana
DENPASAR ~ A 33-year-old Australian man who was arrested while holidaying in Bali appeared in the Denpasar District Court this week, accused of possessing marijuana.
Jason McIntyre faces up to 10 years’ jail if convicted of the offense.
Police arrested McIntyre in the early hours of April 20 on Jl. Legian in Kuta because he appeared to be intoxicated. They said they found him to be in possession of 5.1 grams of the drug.
The suspect is also facing another charge of drug use, which carries a maximum sentence of four years.
