Governor I Made Mangku Pastika has banned further travel agency licences, saying 800 businesses were already licensed but only 300 were actually operating.
He made the announcement in the provincial assembly on Saturday.
The governor also told the assembly he was considering whether licences owned by non-operational travel agents should be revoked – and that licences would be forfeited if businesses were sold.
He said the action was necessary to protect the image of tourism in Bali.

I think the biggest problem are all the illegal “private agents” who are working on her own unprofessional way … if the governor would do something against this kind of business, it would really help to bring the tourism business on a higher level (and the incoming for the tax too) – i am sure no one of this semi profi “agents” is paying any tax or insurance or something else what you need to run a professional business – where ever, not only on Bali.
Lets hope the best for this Island !!
