Mystery Woman Found Dead in Fishing Pond

The Bali Times

FISHERMEN found the body of a woman floating in a fishing pond at Suwung, between Kuta and Sanur, on Wednesday night.
Police said she was aged about 30 and had been dead for some time.
The body was fully clothed but carried no identification.
South Denpasar Police chief Gede Ganefo said inquiries were continuing and witness statements being sought in an attempt to establish the woman’s identity.
Local people fishing in the area saw an object in the water under a bridge and when they approached it were horrified to find it was body, Ganefo said.
They immediately reported the discovery to police, who retrieved the body and sent it to Sanglah Hospital for autopsy.
Ganefo said they were awaiting results of the autopsy before making any conclusions as to the cause of death.
Indentifying the woman would be difficult because of the lack of an ID card or other documentation on the body.
But they may have a lead from a missing person report lodged by a Denpasar man, Malvin Pagau.

He told police on Wednesday that a family member, Elis Pagau, 34, employed at Ngurah Rai Airport, had not been seen for several days after she failed to return home from work.
