Forecasts for week beginning June 26, 2010.

By Jonathan Cainer

A new comet can now be seen in the early morning sky. This rare visitor to our solar system heralds great change. It speaks of the end of an era, a global shift in consciousness, an awakening of hope and compassion. We’re all about to start questioning old values. Why must some people starve and suffer while others thrive? Must we always live in fear of war, economic hardship or emotional pain? Aren’t we here to be happy and to be kind to each other? Of course we are. And it’s time to make all that a higher priority.

CANCER (June 23 – July 23)

You are surprisingly well connected. You have useful contacts who hold positions of influence and authority. You don’t like to abuse your relationship with people by asking for trivial favours. So you sometimes err too far on the side of caution and resist requesting help you need and deserve. You now suspect you should draw someone’s attention to an important matter, of which they seem to be unaware. That’s not overstepping the mark; it is providing a valuable and useful service to all. While Mercury is in your sign and a rare comet races through the sky, you should trust your ideas and insights. And share them freely.

CORRECTED LEO (July 24 – August 23)

Though Mars left Leo earlier in the month, Venus moved into your sign soon after. And a powerful comet is now visiting our solar system. This gives you an enviable advantage and raises crucial questions. What would you like to happen next? What are you tired of? What are you keen to change? You have not dared to ask yourself any of this for a while. You have become accustomed to an experience of frustration. You have seen little point in making wishes or expressing hopes – for it has begun to look as if all is stale, stuck or stagnant. That’s really not the case, though. Now, you have some power, and can make a choice.

VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)

They say you shouldn’t start what you cannot finish. Sometimes, though, you just don’t know what you are going to be able to finish until you start it. You have recently made a brave decision. It involves taking a leap of faith or making an educated guess. You could be right, you could be wrong. You would, though, definitely be wrong not to allow for the possibility that you could just turn out to be right! Give your most inspiring instinct a fair chance to prove valid – and, meanwhile, try not to worry. Mars is in your sign and there’s a new comet in the sky. That gives you a powerful edge in the area where you most need success.

LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)

In the great card game of life what hand have you been dealt? And what should you do with it now? Swap it? Bet on it? Bluff with it? Whatever you do, you’ll face a degree of uncertainty. Anything could happen at any time… though some things are more likely than others. Card games are less fun when there’s a lot at stake. A new comet makes you keenly conscious now of what you stand to lose… and that’s impeding your ability to win. It’s as if you can’t “hear” the voice of your intuition because the voice of your fear is so loud. So encourage yourself to take a more relaxed approach to all you’re up against.

SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)

From an early age, we are taught that if we want people to like us, we must play down our pride. Yet you won’t win friends and influence people just by pretending to have a low opinion of yourself. If you want support and popularity, begin by developing a genuinely high regard for companions, colleagues and loved ones. That doesn’t mean seeing yourself as small. It means feeling good about who you are and good too, about the people you know. Don’t strive for false modesty this week. Just let the new comet inspire you to make sure you take the needs of others into account whilst pursuing your own priorities.

SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)

Why use a battering ram when you can pick the lock? Why even pick the lock when, if you only knock, the door will be opened? You’re now experiencing determination. You may not, though, need as much of this as you think. A task seems daunting, a situation appears to be difficult, a problem looks hard to solve. This, plus your past experience of struggle in a similar area, is causing you to make a pessimistic prejudgement. Should your path really prove difficult to travel, you will be able to find all the strength and stamina you need. A new comet, though, suggests that most tasks this week will be surprisingly easy.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)

You are not quite like other people. You are made of different stuff. You are, for example, more diligent and dedicated, more determined to stick with what you believe in, regardless of the pressure to settle for a lower standard. And you are fussier about what you do or don’t want. Given this, there’s no point in trying to judge yourself by anyone else’s standards. Nor is there a point in listening to someone else’s judgement of you! This week, while a new comet passes through the sky, people can think what they want. Regarding one key issue at least, you are right and need neither prove this nor apologise for it.

AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)

If your guardian angel were just to give you everything you ever asked for, the moment you asked for it, he (or she) wouldn’t be much of an angel. More a “guardian martyr” or a “guardian sucker.” You don’t need an angel to indulge you; you can indulge yourself easily. You want to be protected and that’s a much harder thing to do on your own behalf. Generally, we protect ourselves from the very things we most need to be exposed to, and walk into the lions’ dens that we most need to be steered away from. Be glad of your angel this week. The new comet is holding you back from a choice that, ultimately, you’d only regret.

PISCES (February 20 – March 20)

Some people are better educated than others. They have attended more classes, passed more exams. Does this mean they are more knowledgeable? Only in a limited, superficial way. We are all born blessed with equal access to a universal library full of profound insight and important information. To consult it, we don’t have to train our brains, we just have to hear our hearts. Just as a salmon instinctively knows its way back to the spawning ground, your intuition now knows the right answer. This week, a rare comet passes through the solar system, awakening an almost mystical understanding in you. Trust it.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20)

We learn far more from our apparent failures, than we ever do from our supposed successes. Sometimes, though, it takes us a while. When we make a mistake, we can’t immediately absorb all it has taught us because it pains us to dwell on the disappointment. Also, instinctively, we know that if we analyse the past too deeply, we risk getting stuck in it. A powerful comet, this week brings you an opportunity that you can only seize if you understand why you missed a previous chance. The way to avoid repeating an old error is to be sure you know what went wrong and why. Then you can try again and get it right this time!

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)

Remember when you learned to swim… or ride a bike? Somewhere in that process came a leap of faith. The arm bands had to come off, the stabilisers had to be removed and that great brave attempt had to be made. Once it had happened, it was never a problem again. The build-up to this though, was nerve-racking. You now face a similar challenge. You know what’s needed. You have seen others do it. You can envisage yourself managing it one day… but does it really have to be now? According to this week’s rare cosmic climate, it does. Give it your best shot. You won’t end up failing. You’ll yet float on a cloud of comfort.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)

What’s worse than an intense conversation with a person who doesn’t agree with you? A discussion with someone who has no idea what they really think or feel. How can you achieve clear communication under such circumstances? Either there will be no meaningful exchange because they will simply accept all you have to say, or your persuasive arguments will sink like stones in the quagmire of their confusion. The name of this week’s enemy is ambivalence. If you want to beat it, find a way to motivate others to a point where they’re willing to make a commitment. According to a cosmic comet, you CAN do that.
