Forecasts for week beginning September 11, 2010.
By Jonathan Cainer.
Venus entered Scorpio last week. Mars, this week, moves into the same sector of the sky. The two planets of love in the sign of passion suggest many hearts may soon beat faster. Mercury, meanwhile, changes direction… ending its retrograde phase and enabling progress wherever there has lately been complication or delay. The big news of the week, though, is surely Jupiter’s conjunction to Uranus. Look out for news, on TV or maybe even in your personal life, that somehow changes everything for the better in ways we once felt we might never dare allow ourselves to hope for.
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
They say, “All you need is love.” It may be all we need but, sadly, it is not all we have got. If it were, we wouldn’t need anything else. We would have love, and we’d be happy. We would simply share that love – and the inspiration the love awakened within us… and this would help us all find everything else we could ever require. You can’t, this week, just ignore everything that isn’t loving or loveable. You can, though, prioritise all that inspires you. And you can rest assured, as Mercury changes direction in Virgo, that the universe wants to offer you more love and support than you have lately dared allow yourself to hope for.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
One way or another, the sky has lately been kind to you. It is not about to withdraw its generosity but now Venus has moved into a new sector of the sky, you may find some things come more easily than others. Barriers may not automatically vanish as soon as you point your finger at them. Wishes may not be fulfilled until you actually start striving to fulfil them. Others may even get the better of you in arguments! Financially and materially, though, your prospects are starting to improve. Be glad of what you have got and of what you can get this week. It isn’t quite all you want but there’s still plenty to celebrate.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
Venus now passes through your sign, bringing a significant change to your situation. It opens doors that have been closed and, in some cases, reveals hidden entrances to realms you have long wanted to explore. It offers several convenient coincidences, obliges you to think again about the things that are not possible – and sends you on a journey of discovery. You have lately been through an intense spate of uncertainty that has provoked much soul-searching and has left you exhausted and somewhat disillusioned. Your faith, enthusiasm, confidence and ability to achieve success are all about to return.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
Have you seen how brightly Jupiter has been lately? Just behind Jupiter is another planet, much further away and far harder to spot, even with a telescope. That’s Uranus, discovered by William Herschel back in 1781. Gustav Holst, the composer, later called Uranus The Magician. Astrologers connect it with flight and technology because it was discovered just as historic innovations changed our ideas about how far (and fast) we could ever hope to go. Jupiter’s conjunction to Uranus is deeply significant. It means, no matter what you feel restricted by, you can find freedom from (or through) it if you’re brave.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
If life is a game, what are the rules? If life is a play, where is the script? You are trying to make sense of a situation that doesn’t easily fit any obvious model. Each time you think you know what you are supposed to be doing, you realise there’s a factor that you haven’t taken into account and this throws your ideas into disarray. Does this matter? Only if you want a completely predictable existence. If you want everything to get easier this week, stop trying to understand it all. Just be willing, instead, to be pleasantly surprised. You really have nothing to fear and every reason to feel encouraged by what’s happening.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
Will everything, soon, start changing in the way that you want it to? Well, that’s asking for a lot. But then, if you don’t ask, how can you hope to get an answer? There’s one thing you sorely want and need. You half-expect that somehow, you will have to manage without it. You are steeling yourself for a degree of disappointment. Stop doing that! Even if all your other requests aren’t granted, your most important supplication to the celestial wish-granter has been heard. Jupiter’s conjunction to your ruler is your promise that a pleasing development will take place before long. After which, everything will feel better.
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
We are all a bit like politicians. We spin stories or twist tales to suit our circumstances. We will deny or ignore any truth that’s too awkward to face. We want to believe that we know the best way ahead yet we all, every so often, find ourselves stumbling in the dark, not knowing which way to go yet feeling obliged to act as if we’re on top of everything. If things turn themselves upside-down this week, don’t pretend you understand everything and don’t be too proud to seek help or advice. Just be aware that Jupiter’s conjunction to Uranus is causing rules to be rewritten in ways that ultimately, you can only benefit from!
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
In one key area of life, it’s important to maintain close co-operation with someone, even if that involves giving more of your time, patience or trust than you feel naturally inspired to relinquish. Lately, you’ve been keenly conscious of this need… and of the tension that makes it difficult to fulfil. Mars moves into a new sector of the sky this week. That will help. Jupiter, meanwhile, has left Aries, reducing your own determination to prove a point or move a mountain. That doesn’t mean you’ll lose your motivation. You’ll just become more easily able to pace yourself as you now travel a slow, winding route to eventual success!
TAURUS (Aril 21 – May 21)
Venus governs Taurus. It is in your opposite sign now. An opposite sign is sometimes called a mirror sign. While your ruler is in Scorpio, which is the Mirror of Taurus, you can expect your attitudes and ideals to be reflected back to you by various people and events. Sometimes, when we look in a mirror, we are surprised by what we see. We think “Surely, that can’t have anything to do with me?” And of course, reflections can and do get distorted. Still, though, this week, if you’re seeing something you’re not so pleased with, keep in mind that you have the power to change it by changing something in yourself!
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
People tend to be nice to us when we are nice to them. Even our enemies treat us better when we maintain a veneer of civility. If we can bring ourselves to meet anger with forgiveness and ignorance with understanding, we can melt the stoniest hearts and erode the most impossible obstacles. Do you need to behave in a saintly fashion this week? No. You don’t need to. But you can, if you wish – and if you do, you’ll get an amazing result. Mercury changes direction now, allowing progress in many areas of life where you have lately felt frustrated. Trust that good things are coming and that you can afford to be “big.”
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Why can’t your week be full of true joy, real love, deep inspiration and intense creative enthusiasm? It can be! It’s just that it can’t, despite all that, be entirely trouble free! Problematic sagas may well trundle on in much the same old way. But as long as you can find the self-possession to deal with all this without letting it sour your mood, all of it will pass without causing lasting harm. There will simply be too many things that please you, uplift your spirits, fill your heart with warmth and make you feel inclined to forgive even those who probably ought not to be forgiven! Ultimately, though, your generosity of spirit is a fine thing.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
What is real and what is in your imagination? What is a problem and what is just a situation that needs dealing with? What is a timely reminder and what is a dark warning? We can’t always tell. We get so caught up in our moods, emotions, reactions and responses that we mistakenly read life’s signs and signals according to our expectations. These, in turn, are shaped – more than we realise – by our fears, fantasies, wishes and beliefs. Your view of how life ought to be is being tested and challenged this week, but only because there is a better (and fairer and more realistic) way to look at your current situation.
