Forecasts for week beginning September 18, 2010.

By Jonathan Cainer.

I recently saw Niagara Falls for the first time. I’m still reeling from that incredible spectacle. We live in a world full of wild energies with a natural rhythm and a magical purpose all of their own but we find it easier to see our problems, dramas or difficulties than to remember that we are only visitors, here to marvel. Why do we waste our rare ride on the Maid of the Mist worrying about how wet we are getting? Jupiter’s conjunction to Uranus, this week, is a promise that all who seek higher understanding may yet find it.

VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
Each time you think you’ve solved a problem, you realise it has merely led you to another difficulty. But then, life’s like that. Nothing is ever permanently perfect. Or rather it is… but only if you accept that ongoing challenge is a natural part of that perfection! You need, this week, to be a bit of a philosopher. Find wise ideas. Develop deep thoughts. Mercury remains in Virgo, putting you in an excellent position to improve your material situation and strengthen an emotional or romantic bond. But to do all this, you must allow yourself to be OK with things as they are, not keep wishing they could be some other way.

LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
Sometimes, our instincts are uncannily accurate. We don’t have to stop and think because we “just know” which direction we need to go in. When we are worried, though, we can’t hear our inner voice so clearly. We tend to reach for whatever seems most safe and reassuring, even if it involves rejecting opportunity. Various alignments now suggest you are under pressure. To free yourself from whatever appears to be creating a problem, you may need to make what may seem like a counter-intuitive move. Try walking closer towards (rather than further away from) a source of trouble. Be brave this week.

SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
It’s wonderful to be vulnerable. Only robots are devoid of emotion. If you are going to have feelings of any kind, you must have them of every kind. It is not possible to pick and mix from some inner smorgasbord. In the cafe of the heart, the service is a la carte. You do have a choice – but not a choice about how you feel. You simply get to choose how you feel about how you feel. There’s a big difference. You can, for example, even feel good about feeling not so good! You can also choose do something good about a situation that’s less than ideal. But to do that, you must conquer your fear of seeming weak.

SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
What makes a difference, in communication, is not so much what you say. Nor, necessarily, is it how you say it or who you say it to. What really counts is when you say it. You can hold the same conversation a hundred times and exchange little new information. The same old words will fall on the same old half-deaf ears. Then, one day, someone will be in the mood to really listen, properly. The moment will have come. You may think this week, that nothing so special is happening. A conjunction, though, of Jupiter and Uranus, is about to have a big, positive impact. It’s the right time for the right thing to happen.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
Some people seemingly sleepwalk through life. They don’t stop to think about what they’re doing or where their choices might be leading. Every so often, they wonder how they have ended up in some tricky situation, but then they just shrug their shoulders and carry on. Others are more thoughtful. They carefully consider everything. They think it all through. They weigh it all up. They take their responsibilities seriously and are only too conscious of consequences. You and I both know which category you fall into. We also know that you’ve become a bit too stiff of late. This week, you can afford to worry less and enjoy life more.

AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
Politicians may not always be good at running the country but they do have some impressive skills. They know, for example, how to ignore any question they are being asked, and answer instead, with whatever point they are most keen to communicate. That’s quite an ability. See if you can emulate that trick, yourself, this week. Turn a conversation to the topic that you would most like it to cover. Direct people’s attention away from what interests them towards what suits you! You’ve got something truly important to do and deal with. You may yet be pleasantly surprised by how easily you can summon support if you try.

PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
This week you can expect to spend much time tending to the needs of others. No change there then, you may think. But there should be at least one difference. Though you already spend a great deal of your life being self-sacrificing, you normally find this goes all but unnoticed. Your efforts now, though, are being much appreciated and look set soon, to be richly rewarded. You mean much more to someone than you realise. You are also on the verge of attaining great power. It is as if many good deeds done on past occasions are about to pay off. Be as kind as you can this week. The cosmos is about to be kind to you!

ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
A little wisdom is all you want. But, then, a little wisdom is all that any of us ever really want. We don’t want a lot. A lot might incapacitate us. We might look at everything we were doing and say, “How foolish!” Then we might stop and do something less crazy but more boring. Or maybe, if we really ever did have a lot of wisdom, we’d see how much we inwardly need to make mistakes! And we’d probably encourage ourselves to be a lot sillier. Mars, as it now settles into a new sector of the sky, suggests you need to embrace and accept a little craziness. Loosen up, lighten up and then you’ll wise up in just the right way!

TAURUS (Aril 21 – May 21)
You have known easier times. But have you ever been in such a potentially rewarding situation before? Perhaps you think there’s nothing so satisfying about your circumstances. Maybe you doubt that they will ever lead to a development worth celebrating. But when we are in the midst of a slow, frustrating process, optimism famously fades. Venus now passes through your opposite sign. You’re not alone and, even if the company you are keeping infuriates you at least as much as it inspires you, there’s help at hand. Be graceful, patient and good-humoured and you’ll yet make the most constructive progress.
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
You feel you have taken a bit of a battering lately. Psychologically, financially, emotionally and creatively too, it seems you no longer stand on such solid ground. You have been knocked, if not right off your perch, at least to the point where you are wobbling. But now you know just how far your perch can swing without toppling. That ought to inspire you. You’re more resilient and resourceful than you realise. Not only can you take whatever difficulty life brings, you can adapt to an opportunity and maximise it. This week, if you stop regretting the past and start embracing the future, that’s precisely what you’ll be able to do!

CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Each day this week, we get ever closer to the first of two full moons in the part of your chart that governs power. The second comes next month to complete a process that is currently putting you through some stress, strain, turmoil and tension. It seems as if almost everyone is at loggerheads with everyone else. Nothing is knitting neatly together. Is any of this your fault? Not really. Is there anything you can do about it? You can only try your best. Sometimes cosmic storms blow up and then die down, all of their own accord. Sometimes too, things simply have to fall apart before they can be put properly back together.

LEO (July 24 – August 23)
An extraordinary opportunity approaches. It will come about, this week, as a result of a drama plus the culmination of a process of pressure. It is possible that, at first, you may perceive the developing situation as anything but a gift. An antagonistic alignment between the Sun and Uranus may lead you to question much that you might have once accepted at face value. That, though, is healthy. It means, once you see your new chance for what it is, you’ll have no lurking doubt in the back of your mind. Then you’ll be free to commit yourself to a decision that proves profitable, successful and emotionally satisfying.
