Forecasts for week beginning March 20, 2011.
By Jonathan Cainer
It won’t be till next week that Jupiter completes its rare, once-a-decade opposition to Saturn. But the moment it’s over, it’s over. In astrology, all the action is in the waxing or the coming together. Once an alignment becomes exact, it “completes” and, as it wanes, so does its influence. It’s now, while the planets are edging towards their stand-off, that we can expect the greatest conflict between old and new. After which, plus the rebalancing influence of the equinox, we’ll all find the way things were is no longer the way they’re going to be.
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
You are strong but not superhuman. You are wise, but not all-knowing. You are kind, but not a fountain of forgiveness. You are resourceful, but not endlessly wealthy. This may sound obvious, but recently you have lost track of your own limitations. You are overly confident about some of your abilities, insufficiently cautious about others. There is a simple way to get the balance right this week. Wherever there is doubt, replace it with certainty. The very fact that you are unsure, means you are being suitably careful and can therefore relax. If, though, you feel completely sure of anything, question it!
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
You can travel to the Moon or beyond. As long you pack, in your suitcase, items that remind you of all your worries, troubles and traumas, you won’t be leaving any of them behind. Or, you can stay right where you are and make a decision to draw a line between the past and the present and say, “From now on, everything is going to be different.” If you really mean this, you will have instantly transported yourself into another world. You can go, this week, as far as you dare allow yourself to go. Emotionally – and, eventually, materially, too – another world is nearer than you know!
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
“The more things change, the more they stay the same.” Look at what’s happening in your world. Look back at what was happening 10 years ago. Or twenty. Some factors have altered beyond recognition yet there are some surprisingly consistent themes. What is it that you have been attempting to accomplish ever since you arrived on this planet? Will you ever completely succeed? As long as you are enjoying the attempt, what does it matter? This week, life CAN be enjoyed. Greatly. And the happier you give yourself permission to become, the easier it will be to do what’s needed.
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Time flies when you’re having fun. It also races past when you are under pressure. At various points recently you have experienced both extremes. Now, a trial period is up. A decision needs to be reached. You can go forward or back with equal impunity. No one will judge you either way. Don’t judge yourself, either. Sometimes we have to experiment. It is the only way that we can find out how we truly feel about something or someone. You now know enough. Whatever you need to do next, you can do. Just resolve to do it with grace and to do it wholeheartedly.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
Fairy tales are full of horns of plenty. Golden egg-laying geese. Cooking pots that pour forth an endless supply of porridge. In real life, there is a parallel. Our material resources may, or may not, last forever but our emotional resources are truly infinite. The more love you allow yourself to feel, the more you will be able to draw from your heart. There is no limit. The more faith you have, the more you will get. Do fears, worries, problems and points of conflict have a similar capacity to replenish themselves ad infinitum? It may seem so – but, as this week’s events will prove, actually, they don’t!
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
Look at this week’s Full Moon. Gaze at it. Stare into it. Wish on it. It is full – in your sign. All week, long after the Moon has moved on, you will continue to feel the impact of this powerful influence. You will feel sensitive and vulnerable. You will actually, though, be very intuitive and capable of great creativity. Don’t overreact to a cause of concern. Just be inspired by a positive possibility. If a proposition seems far-fetched or unlikely, nurture it and gently help your hope to become stronger. If you can overcome your fears, you will find yourself in a position to bring about impressive change.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
Would you like to be reassured, comforted, cosseted, settled and soothed? It’s possible, even in these turbulent times. The news is not all bad. The trouble is not all-pervading. This week, though, before a battle can be won, a truth must be faced. You must put in real energy and effort – mental and physical. You have also got to be brutally honest. Once all that’s happened, though, cloud nine awaits. And it is looking like a very pleasant place to float. It’s not so much that you have to earn your place on it, more that you can’t get there till you stop leaning on a dodgy source of support.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
Do you want to go on a magical mystery tour or would you prefer to stick to a strict itinerary? At the moment, you are feeling uncharacteristically inclined to prefer the predetermined path. You have made up your mind about (and set your heart on) attaining a very specific objective. Be resolute by all means, but don’t worry if it proves impossible to keep your train completely on your chosen track. It is not the only route by which it is now possible for you to reach your desired destination. In surprise and spontaneity there is serendipity. Be open-minded and open-hearted this week.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
What’s the point of entering into an argument that you can easily win? There won’t be much sense of satisfaction or surprise. You’ll experience much more novelty and interest if you set out to lose it, rather than win it – or if you embark on a more difficult debate instead. Now that Mercury has met up with your ruler while it now heads towards the culmination of a rare opposition to Saturn, a drama of some kind is unavoidable. You can, though, choose whether to have a predictable battle, from which you learn little, or a challenging encounter – during which you make a great discovery.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
There are times when you feel foolish for trying so hard to put your feelings into words. It’s so difficult to get those words right. There’s nothing silly about making the effort; indeed such actions have been responsible for many breakthroughs throughout history. This week’s celestial climate may overwhelm you with the desire to express yourself, to speak the unspeakable, to rage, gush, spout and sing out the contents of your heart to the world. Don’t feel that, somehow, it’s wrong to be honest or to be passionate. If what’s in your heart is good, what’s in your world will turn out to be right.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
Confused? If you’re not, you ought to be. Bewildered? Let’s hope so. You are now under the highly hypnotic influence of Venus in your sign. If you’re not feeling baffled, you’re probably full of passionate desire and deep conviction. If that’s the case, be very wary. Venus is an intoxicating influence; the celestial equivalent of mezcal or absinthe. It doesn’t just get you merry; it drives you a little mad. It also, potentially, opens you up to a lot of fun and magic. The object of your exercise now is to be loving, forgiving, happy… and, wherever possible for the time being, non-committal!
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
If you’ve got it, flaunt it. If you haven’t? Flaunt it anyway. Who is to say that you haven’t got it? What do they know? Why should their opinions count? Then, there’s another crucial point to consider. The very act of “flaunting” makes an item desirable. What people are attracted to, in this world, is confidence – not cosmetics. Appearances can always be altered. Integrity, though, is rare and precious. If you’ve got it, or if you can learn to develop it – you can soon get everything else in life that you need. Walk tall this week. Act like you don’t really need anything and you’ll end up with everything.
