Forecasts for week beginning November 12, 2011.

By Jonathan Cainer

The forecasts you are about to read are for the next seven days. That’s always the case on this day of the week apart from the ones I give at the beginning of the month. Those cover the entire month. When preparing a long-range prediction I have to look at all the coming problems and opportunities, then decide which will dominate. Now, for example, most of us are feeling the influence of the recent Full Moon. It has brought up many issues for us to deal with. But as time goes by, they’ll tend to be less bothersome.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
If you lose 48 per cent of all the bets you ever make, you’re a loser. If you win 52 per cent, you’re a genius. Unless, that is, your failures are big and your successes are small. Or vice versa. While you digest that, lets talk about how often you need to be right if you want to be seen as extremely clever. All of us make mistakes. The question is how often do we come up with answers that hit the spot? Never mind your track record. Forget the bits of your history you now regret. Can you trust that you’re on the right track this week? You can! What else matters?

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
If you stop investing energy into something that won’t work, you can start putting it into something that will. How do you tell when you’re wasting your time? Here’s a hint. Whilst miracles are always possible, and we must never grow cynical or jaded, we can fairly safely assume that if something has been tried a thousand times before, and has singularly failed to produce the desired result, it is unlikely to do so on attempt number 1001. If, this week, you can’t see any point in following the same old policy, try experimenting with a new procedure.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
They say you should cut your coat according to your cloth. But what if you have plenty of cloth? What if you have enough to make the world’s biggest coat? Then you’ll end up with a coat that’s far too big for you! Watch now for the tendency to go a little too far. You may have the ability, you may have the wherewithal, you may even have the opportunity – but this does not mean that you should go ahead. Ask yourself one crucial question: ‘What do I actually need?’ Once you know that, Mercury will show you how you pretty much already have it.

CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Molecules. Microbes. Teeny little things, invisible to the naked eye. Let’s consider these for a moment. Do you think they know how small they are? Do they have a diminished sense of self-importance? Science has so far failed to provide us with a definitive answer but we can hazard an educated guess. Size surely has nothing to do with it. Everything is relative. That said, the ‘big issue’ now taking up so much of your time and energy, is smaller than you think. Remember you are so much bigger than that and nothing need bug you this week.

LEO (July 24 – August 23)
It takes effort to follow a course of action. Happily, we don’t usually have to expend a lot of energy if we want to get information. A quick trawl of the internet will make us much the wiser on most matters. There’s something you would now like to be able to do. You suspect you will never be able to do it. You could, at least, ask what it might really involve. You may well find that a goal is much more feasible to attain than you think. Either put the whole thing out of your mind or get the plan straight in your head. But don’t give up at the first obstacle.

VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
Diagnosis, they say, is half the cure. If you know what’s wrong, you are on your way to putting it right. The worst problems we ever face are the ones we cannot understand, explain or see how to deal with. Are you now of the opinion that you have a problem you can never solve? Be wary this week, of those who seem to feel sure that they know what you need. Be equally suspicious of your own tendency to assume that something is hopeless. This week brings a discovery that leads to a revelation. This has the potential to alter everything for the better.

LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
Sometimes we end up running as fast as we can just to stay in the same place. At other times our progress becomes pleasingly smooth. Happily, you are about to begin one of these easier phases. You will soon start to feel as if you are being guided by some powerful inner radar system towards an inevitable destination. Something has to happen. Something long overdue. If that idea worries you, stop worrying. I always hesitate to use phrases like ‘date with destiny’ but this is what you now have – in the nicest possible sense.

SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
Many people talk about a ‘sixth sense’. Those people are not Scorpios.  For one thing, you don’t need to talk about it because you know that it exists and have no particular desire to either sing its praises or question its existence. It’s just a fact of life to you. What interests you more is the seventh sense! Above and beyond your impressive intuition, you receive other signs and signals, some of which you are not sure whether to heed or ignore. Trust your deepest feeling this week. No matter what’s worrying you, there’s a way to make it all okay.

SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
When we have lost something we often go hunting from room to room looking in drawers or on shelves. If we still cannot find it, we repeat the exercise. We begin to look in unlikely, even, ridiculous places. Usually, when we have all but given up, we make a breakthrough. We sit down and calmly cast our mind back to what was happening at the moment we last saw it. As with objects, so with feelings. What seems to have ‘gone missing’ from your life lately? Begin by looking in the last place you encountered it. All you need is nearer to you than you think.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
My young daughter once asked, ‘What’s the end of the world?’ When I asked why she wanted to know she said, ‘because whenever I get upset, people say, “never mind, it’s not the end of the world”.’ I decided not to enlighten her. Why give someone something to worry about when you really want to give them a reason to stop worrying? Now, let’s turn to your concerns about a difficult situation. They are genuine but you’re not against something impossible, unless you tie yourself up in knots with questions that don’t even need to be thought about!

AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
When we haven’t got what we feel we want, we try to cheer ourselves up by setting out to get what we feel we can have. We have to want it a bit, of course, or there would be no point. But if we really wanted it that badly, it wouldn’t be our second choice. Sometimes, in that quest for an acceptable substitute, we compromise too many standards. Or we aim for something that we do want, and can have, but that we know we really ought not to want or have, because it’s bad for us. Watch for that this week. You deserve the best. Make that your priority.

PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Teachers, no matter how loving, caring and keen to help they may be, have a class to manage. If they let one kid step out of line, the rest will soon follow suit. So as children, we all get told to behave as others behave and fear the consequences if we don’t. No wonder we sometimes grow up with a fear of authority. We can sometimes be too quick to comply with instructions and accept official explanations, even when we know, we really shouldn’t do this. It’s healthy, wise and potentially profitable for you to be a bit more of rebel this week.
