WTO to Meet in Bali

NUSA DUA

Bali will host another high-profile international summit next year, with the World Trade Organisation inter-ministerial conference slated to be held here in December 2013.

The announcement was made during a WTO meeting in Geneva last month. WTO spokeswoman Elin Johansen said that the Indonesian authorities had approached the organisation with an offer to host the event.

She said the precise dates for the meeting would be fixed later this year.

The WTO ministerial conference is held every two years, and was last held in Geneva.

The event will come after the APEC conference, due to be held in Bali next year, with current infrastructure improvements in road and airport facilities being timetabled around the event.
