The Heritages of Majapahit’s Glory Exhibited
The glory of the Majapahit kingdom’s cultural heritage in terms its technology were on display along with nine other provinces of the Balinese People’s Struggle Monument, in Denpasar.
“This is an archipelago’s cultural heritage with superb technology and the kingdom’s technology actually has been applied until now,” said Wicaksono Dwi Nugroho, the head of Majapahit Trowulan Museum East Java, on Tuesday.
According to him, the technology had been advancing during the era of Majapahit Kingdom around XIII-XV century AD, it is proven by the discovery of more than 88 thousand artifacts found in Trowulan sites since 1895.
He gave an example, pottery made of clay with round shape and smooth and thin outer layer, indicating that pottery had undergone the high level and optimum combustion process.
Some of these objects are now on display in Bali, including pottery materials in the form of pig piggy bank, crockery, and a pitcher. There was also a metal, and porcelain which are all genuine objects.

“We are worried to take out the piggy bank because there is only one of its kinds and it has very high value,” he added.
