Former Member of Detachment 88 Reported Killed

Former member of Detachment 88, Agus Riyadi who is serving five years in prison on drug-related cases, was reported killed.

Agus Riyadi was found in the Penitentiary (Prison) Class II-A Denpasar in Kerobokan, Badung regency.

Kerobokan Prison head I Gusti Ngurah Wiratna, said the prisoner died during a medical treatment at the General Hospital Center Sanglah in Denpasar.

Earlier before the victim suffered shortness of breath so they immediately rushed him to the hospital. “From the reports we received, Agus Riyadi was still breathing when they went to the hospital,” he said.

Shortly after arriving at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar, the prisoner of Block H took his last breath.

Definitive information about his death and cause has yet to obtain.

Wiratna claims still awaiting the results of a medical examination of the hospital.

“Until now there has not been any results at my desk, we have to wait untill the medical results comes out,” he said.

He denied the allegations of Agus Riyadi died because of drug overdose or become victim of violence in prison. “There are no signs of those allegations. We have to wait for the results,” he said.

Wiratna explained that the prisoner’s body has been handed over to the family on Wednesday (21/11) around 04.00 pm. Agus Riyadi was convicted untill 29th of April 2015.
