Immigration Holds Passports of Foreign Workers

SINGARAJA

Immigration Office “Kelas II Singaraja” holds passports of the 75 expatriates who were employed for the project Electrical Power Plant (PLTU) Celukan Bawang in Buleleng regency of Bali, due to not meet the requirements to work in Indonesia.

“Immigration is holding their passports after receiving input from us,” said Chairman of Provincial Legislative Council, Putu Mangku Budiasa.

He informed the press that many expats at the Electrical Power Plant (PLTU) Celukan Bawang is not listed on the Department of Manpower and Transmigration in the regency of Buleleng.

“This is a serious problem in the midst of this community, especially for those who does not get a chance to work,” said Mangku Budiasa.

According to him, after research the immigration process is done in accordance with applicable laws, including advocating for the PT General Energy Bali and China Huadian Limited for employment paperwork.
