Emirati “Spiderman” to Jump from World’s Highest Building

DUBAI

Saeed al-Memari, a famous Emirati mountaineer, said that he plans to climb the 828 meters tall Burj Khalifa in Dubai and to jump by parachute from the top on new year’s eve, local news agency WAM reported.

According to al-Memari’s plan, he will start climbing, secured by a safety-rope, at 5 p.m. local time and reach the top of the Burj Khalifa at midnight.

Al-Memari said he wants to watch the fireworks when flying to the ground with his parachute, adding that he would wait for the weather forecast to make sure it would not rain on Dec. 31 in Dubai.

Al-Memari was the first Emirati national who climbed twice the world’s highest mountain, the 8,848 meters high Mount Everest.
