Landslides Kill Two People in Buleleng

SINGARAJA

Two victims of landslides at Gitgit village, Buleleng regency, Bali was found died.

“The victim search finally brings about a result throughour personnel hard work helped by Search and Rescue (SAR) team and Indonesian Army (TNI),” the Head of Buleleng Disaster Mitigation Agency(BPBD) Putu Dana said in Singaraja. He mentioned that the two victims are Gede Mertada and Gede Mulyawan Atmaja, both are the resident of Banjar Bhuana, Gitgit village, Sukasada district.

In the evacuation process, the personel of Buleleng Kodim Captain (Inf) Gusti Gede Merta had fallen down from the hilly area that injured him so that he has to receive intensive treatment at TNI-AD Hospital in Singaraja.

The landslides had caused the main road Bedugul- Singaraja blocked by soil. “Now the road is normal again after our team had cleaned the material,” Putu Dana added.

Landslides also occurred at subuk village, Busungbiu district that destroyed Ketut Suardan’s house.

Meanwhile, floods occurred because of overflowing Saba River had soaked eight houses at Banjar Beratan, Patemon village, Seririt district.

Besides, tornado also occurred at Kalianget and Tangguwisia village, Seririt district that destroyed sixteen houses as it crushed by falling trees.
