Tourists Enjoy the Bull Racing Attraction
Justin Watson, a British tourist who has a first time vacation in Lovina, Buleleng Regency, North Bali, is really interested with the bull racing attraction.
Many foreign tourists are interested in enjoying the attractions, as it’s the first time watching it in Bali, said Justin Watson, who had the honor of riding bulls in the field at Kaliasem village, Lovina, 85 km southwest of Denpasar.
Beside Justin Watson, some people also had the honor of riding bulls; they are the Assistant III Setkab Buleleng Gede Dharmaja and other elements of Muspida.
The bulls racing fight Buleleng Regent trophy 2013 held as a tourist attraction as well as enliven the celebration of Singaraja409th Anniversary.
It is a unique and exciting activity that involves 16 pairs of bullsdivided into three groups, consisting of a group of West, Central and East Buleleng.
“As a typical attractions of North Bali, Buleleng regency government is committed to preserve the bulls racing that is regularly held every year, in celebrating the anniversary of Singaraja, Indonesian Independence Day, as well as Lovina Festival,” said GedeDharmaja.
The same thing also expressed Head of Buleleng Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar) Department,KetutWarkadea, the bull racing has become atourism activity in North Bali.
After going through assessment from a jury team coordinated by Nyoman Suwita, the bulls with Gede Maduas the rider from Surya Bhuana Group, Panji village was designated as the first winner of Buleleng Regent Cup and earns cash of Rp7.5 million.
Meanwhile, the second winner is Wayan Sukrada from Putra Gembala Group, Kaliasem Village who got prize cash of Rp5.5 million and the third winner is Gede Sumadi from Eka Gopala Group, Banjar Tegal Singaraja got Rp3.5 million.
Disbudpar Buleleng previously also provided funds to the bull group of Rp1 million each.
The bull racing that got a great welcome from the community and foreign tourists that afternoon was alsoenliven by “ngoncang” and Joged bumbung.Filed under: Travel & Culture
