Aston Denpasar Hotel and Convention Center wants to make improvement in order to be one of the choices for Balinese people to hold a variety of activities for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

“We want to be the hotel choice for many people, especially government institutions in the region in the implementation of MICE,” said Reza Dranie, Director of Sales and Marketing Aston Denpasar Hotel.

It means that the hotel will be the choice among others that is not so many for the capital of Bali Province.

Despite having to compete with other hotels around the area of Denpasar, he is optimistic that the hotel can provide the best offer to customers who take advantage of the tourist accommodation.

“We offer something better, especially in terms of rate because it is much more affordable. Good thing can be felt at an affordable price is that the guests here can feel the 4-stars hotel services,” he said.

Currently there are a total of 14 meeting rooms in the hotel with different capacity. Two big-capacity space, a ballroom that can accommodate 2,000 people and the remaining capacity of 10-80 people. The space utilization is not maximized as in one month it has not reached the target of 200 events, recently it is approximately 120 events every month.

“The growth has been pretty good but it should be improved. If it is added together from January to May there are 600 events held at the hotel,” said the man born in Bandung.

In addition to being a meeting place or the venue of various activities, the hotel is targeting a wedding venue.

Ideally one wedding within a month, which is based on last year experience it was quite a lot.

The man graduated from the College of Tourism (STP) Bandung in 2000, said that the hotel’s main target market is the domestic tourist, while the rest are travelers from China and Taiwan.

Regarding high potential of domestic travelers is enormous, especially for the island region that is still much to be explored.

Meanwhile,to bring in tourists from the bamboo curtain country, the hotel is cooperated with travel agents. “The portion or tourists targetstaying here ideally is 60 percent domestic and 40 percent tourist from China, but the reality it could be equal,” he said.

He hoped that in the future inter-hotel competition in Bali could be healthier and the new ideas for tourist attractions or visitinga new place so that guests don’t get bored.

It was for the sake of tourism development on the island, not to make tourists boring.
