Beach is the Main Destination of Australian Tourist

Beaches in some areas of South Bali so far still become the main destination for Australian tourists.

“The Australian tourists generally come to Bali with their family and choose to visit Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Tanjung Benoa, only few of them choose Ubud,” said the tourism observer in Bali Dewa Nyoman Putra in Denpasar.

From the survey on foreign tourists behavior done by Bank Indonesia Denpasar on November 2012 to 510 respondents of foreign tourists from all countries, information on Australian tourists behavior is got by representation of 149 people.

It is stated that the Australia tourists’ main purpose to come to Bali is 95.95 percent for vacation, the rest is for business or attending MICE activity.

Thus, in average the length of their stay in Bali is six days. The Australian tourists generally come with their family (48.32 percent) with destinations centered mostly in Badung Regency including Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Tanjung Benoa(73.33 %).

Dewa Putra said that based on the data, only few of the Australian tourists stay in the mountain area in Ubud and Tegalllalang, Gianyar Regency, only 16.67 percent, meanwhile 8.89 percent stay in Denpasar.

He mentioned that Australian tourists still dominate tourist visit to Bali that could contribute 25.06 percent, reaching 242.935 people from the total of 969.382 people during January-April 2013.

The number of Australian people coming to Bali to enjoy the beautiful nature panorama and Balinese arts and culture increase 2.07 percent compared to the same period of time in the previous year, which was 238.003 people.

The arrival of Australian tourists to Bali is more than tourists from ASEAN countries, which is only 114.000 people, and more than tourists from Uni-Europe countries, which is 202.000 people in the first four months of 2013.
