Fishery Potency in Bali is not Maximally Handled
The potency of fishery and marine sectors in Bali Province are not maximally handled yet due to inconsistent weather.
“We see that so far Bali could not fulfill the demand of fishery market. One of the factors is the weather,” said the Deputy Head of Bank Indonesia Area III/ Bali-Nusra Suarpika Bimantoro, in Denpasar.
He mentioned that in the first quarter of 2013, the export value of fish from Bali is only US$ 30 millions or declined 1.11 percent compared to the same period last year. Moreover, the export volume is only 7,770 tons or decreased 6.54 percent.
The fishery commodities that become asset of Bali is fresh tuna to fulfill the markets in Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, United States of America and Malaysia.
“Tuna trade to overseas is one of the prominent thing in collecting devisa besides small industry and craft products such as garments, silver jewelry, wood arts works and other antiques,” said Bimantoro.Filed under: The Island
