Forecasts for week beginning Saturday, July 27, 2013.

By Jonathan Cainer

The recent Harmonic Convergence remains powerful. This special pattern of aspects involves slow-moving planets. They took some time to move into position and are now taking more time to drift apart. While Saturn and Neptune, plus Jupiter and Mars, stay in the shape of an equilateral triangle or grand trine, three more heavenly bodies now form yet another grand trine. This one involves the Moon, so it won’t last long, but this weekend, the Moon, Venus and Pluto’s trine will overlap the first one – creating, briefly, the auspicious shape of a six-pointed star in the zodiac!

ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
You have come a long way. You have covered a lot of distance. We could argue that you are back where you started from but that’s not really so. You are simply repeating elements of a familiar theme. You are playing out variations too and these are significant. We all have to go round in circles to some extent. That’s only fitting when you think about the planet on which we live and how it endlessly rotates. But no two days are ever the same; nor even two moments. Don’t be fooled this week, by what you think you recognise. Be inspired, instead, by what you are only just starting to discover.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
TV show presenters. Morning radio DJs. Telephone sales people. Children’s entertainers. Religious representatives. Happy smiley people. Permanently obliged to be cheerful and upbeat. Never allowed to look glum or to indulge in a sense of disappointment or disillusionment. Bubble bubble. Twinkle twinkle. Do you really want to join their ranks? You can put on a bland act if you want to. But isn’t it much more important for you to get to the real truth behind a false facade? This week, you may have to choose between progress and popularity.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
One day, according to an ancient prophecy, the lion will lie down with the lamb. Swords will be turned into ploughshares. There will be peace on Earth for all. Well, almost all. Some folk, you see, love to groan and grumble. They enjoy nothing so much as a good argument. Peace will leave them with nothing interesting to think about. And let us not forget that some people benefit financially from fear and conflict. This week, if you really want to work out a deal that suits everyone, you had better find out what everyone really wants.

CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Not everything is wrong, it’s just that there’s one issue that won’t go away. Nor, though, can it be easily and fully resolved – at least for the time being. You are stuck with a seemingly unsatisfactory situation and thus you must find some way to be okay about it. What can you learn to love? What can you tolerate, feel an affinity for or find a way to forgive? How can you put aside your fear and sense of restlessness? These may seem like unanswerable questions but a way can be found, This week, you’ll find it.

LEO (July 24 – August 23)
You have long since learned to take the rough with the smooth. You understand that life will always have its ups and downs and that it is unrealistic to expect perfection. Yet somewhere in the process of reaching this conclusion, you have begun to expect more than your fair share of doom and gloom. Indeed, you are growing suspicious of good news when you hear it. Yet, despite all that seems so difficult, some rather wonderful things are about to happen. Don’t waste time wondering whether they are for real.

VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
Is there a number tattooed on your skull? What about that ball and chain on your ankle? Does it have your name engraved on it, alongside the number of years you must serve? I’m just trying to find evidence of your incarceration. It seems to me as if you have put yourself on trial and declared yourself guilty of a crime you did not commit. Now you are punishing yourself. But this week brings opportunity and potential excitement. Look at what is being given to you, not what is being taken from you.

LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
‘All things bright and beautiful / All creatures great and small.’ So goes the old church hymn. Why is it so popular? Because it is true. The creation is amazing and you are a wonderful part of it. Never mind all those incredible butterflies, forget the fantastic flora and fauna, look at yourself. Look at all that you have experienced, good and bad alike. It is all testimony to the incredible power of the divine. Where does that power reside? At least partially… in your own heart. And all that’s good in the world has plans for you this week.

SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
As we grow older, do we become wiser? It’s nice to imagine that the answer is ‘yes’. Some of us, though, choose not to learn. We go round in the same circles, playing out the same dramas, testing the same theories, yet refusing to accept the evidence that our experiment presents us with. As we grow older, we become more experienced, but wisdom requires experience plus something else: willingness. You’re now ready to learn. So you’re ready to solve any problem! This week, it turns out, you’re wiser than you knew!

SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
Reach for the best by all means, but be aware that the best is not always out of reach. We often mistake elusive targets for desirable ones. If something is rare, we figure, it must be precious. That’s not always the way. Some of the finest things in life are not only free, they are right under our noses in plentiful supply. Often, what we need most of all, is not an object, an item or a change of circumstance; it’s just the ability to feel grateful for some simple, yet wonderful gift. You’ll have much to be glad of this week.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
Big problems are never wonderful, but at least they help us deal more easily with life’s smaller difficulties. We can see them in perspective and are not crippled by some imaginary fear about how much worse things can get. Under other circumstances, I might be inclined to alert you to a challenge yet, by comparison to all you have lately faced, this week’s drama is more likely to come as a piece of light relief. Actually, though, it is more than that, it is a clear sign that trouble’s high tide is receding. The next wave will wash in easier times.

AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
You should soon be seeing the kind of progress you were hoping to see. This ought to cheer you up. There is, of course, the possibility that it could all start going in a different direction at any moment. You can get upset by that thought if you want to bring yourself back down to earth. Really, though, you may as well ascend a little further before you think about falling. It is just possible, if you truly allow yourself to rise up high this week, that you might entirely escape the gravity of a situation that’s not as serious as it seems.

PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Be strong. Be wise. Be reasonable. Be all this, even in the face of trouble. For some strange reason you keep experiencing a sense of powerlessness. You wish that you could get a difficult process over and done with. You are almost tempted to betray a principle or to make a regrettable compromise – just to get instant relief from pressure. Wouldn’t any progress at all be worth some kind of sacrifice or compromise? Hold tight to your faith and remember what you believe in. The right solution is not far away.
