Additional Public Transport Needed

The government of Bali Province urged the private sector to add public transportation in order to provide sufficient facilities for underprivileged community in the region.

“By adding public transportation in all regencies/ city in Bali will be very helpful for people who don’t have private cars,” said the Head of Public Relation Agency Regional Secretary Bali Province I Ketut teneng in the side lines of his official visit in Semarang, central java, on Friday.

According to him, the government of Bali Province have provided public transportation namely Trans Sarbagita, whose operational area is still limited to Denpasar and Badung Regency.

Later there will be addition to reach until all areas of regencies/ city on the island.

Meanwhile, regarding issue of cheap car that is planned by the central government now, he agree and support the policy.

“If it is the government policy we support it,” he said.

According to him, if there is a policy of cheap car and many people can afford it, it means that the people welfare is increasing continuously.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Bali Province Made Mangku Pastika stated that he support the central government policy related to the low cost and green car (LCGC) so that more people can have car.

“To me it’s good for people who can’t afford a car since there is the cheap one,” he said.

However, according to him, if the low cost category car offered at below Rp100 millions, it’s still expensive. “If it’s Rp20 millions, then it’s cheap. I agree so that people can enjoy having a car,” he said.

He also stated that traffic jam in Bali is related to the high rate of migration to Bali as there are a lot of employment opportunities. Each year the increase of migrants to Bali reach 150 thousands people.
