Hotels are Asked to Have CSR on House Renovation Program

Vice Governor of Bali, Ketut Sudikerta appealed hotels managers to contribute to the house renovation program as a company social responsibility (CSR). He stated it after chairing a meeting of businessmen and state corporate synergy for Economic Development in Denpasar.

According to him, there are many five-star hotels on the island, which give a little attention in the house renovation program.

He expected that the company will contribute in the social field simultaneously.  Bali Provincial Government is targeting the house renovation until 2014 to reach 1,000 units.

While until 2013, said Sudikerta, only realized 705 units. “The goal in 2014 is 1,000 units get renovated,” he added.

Bali provincial government has increased the budget per unit for house construction, which is originally Rp20 million increases to Rp25 million.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bali, Ida Bagus Purwa Sidemen stated that a number of stars hotels already delivering social assistance in the form of “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR).

But he acknowledged that only a little one contribute to the house renovation program, because most of the CSR channeled into areas of environmental and social assistance for orphans and other social assistance.
