The World Taekwondo Championship Held in Bali

A total of 51 countries from the five continents competed at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships 2013 in Nusa Dua, Bali, on October 30 until November 3.

American zone is represented by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico. While from Europe is represented by athletes from Germany, Italy, Portugal and France. Asia is represented some Middle- East countries such as Iran, Bahrain, Oman, and East Asia, South Korea and Japan, and Southeast Asia is represented by Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand.

Meanwhile Australia is also involved in the prestigious competition at the Taekwondo number, as well as the power of African countries such as Egypt and Algeria also enlivens the event.

The Secretary General Taekwondo Indonesia, Dirc Richard stated that the maximum target will be given to athletes who compete in Bali. “Target is definitely there, which is to gain two gold medals. From the individual male,” he said.

He said that this target is quite realistic given the strength mapping of the opponent in the championship is fairly even, both from Asia and Europe. In addition, previously male individual poomsae athlete, Maulana Haidir could gain gold medal on Islamic Solidarity Games 2013 in Palembang.
