Tourism Increases Balinese Craft Export
Tourism sector grows rapidly in Bali as well as increasing the growth of trade of miscellaneous handicrafts as souvenirs.
“Every tourist visiting Bali will buy a gift for relatives or other families in their country,” said the handicrafts exporter from Gianyar, Mudita, on Tuesday.
He took example of many Russian tourists buy various handicrafts, including horse shaped wooden sculptures, both medium and large size corresponding to the real horse.
Non-oil exports activities of the island including crafts from Bali to Russia remains vibrant as the positive impact of the development of tourism world that attracts more and more foreign tourists, including Russians to spend holiday in Bali.
Data in Bali Province Tourism Department noted that Russian tourists who come directly from the country to Bali in January- September 2013 are as many as 62,172 people or 18.19 percent increase compared to the same period in 2012 that only 52,605 people.
