Feng Shui to Counter Sector Ill Effects
By S.BS. Surendran
A badly positioned toilet in a property could be the cause of financial drain which is documented in some of the classical texts of Feng Shui. Apart from this the sector which your main door, kitchen and bedrooms occupy also have a cumulative effect on not just wealth but also relationships and all good things in life.
Easy Feng Shui generally speaks of positioning symbolic cures to counter such existing defects and in some situations relocating the washrooms would be a necessity too. Prior to looking at the toilet positions, one has to consider other factors like Main door position and orientation, Kitchen position and stove location apart from bedroom and sleeping directions of the occupants.
• Main Door is the threshold between internal (Yin energy) and external (Yang Energy), hence it acts as the ‘Mouth’ where the Chi (energy) enters the property. A good Main Door ensures that the entire building receives a healthy amount of energy flow and prosperity.
• Level of the Property decides the type of energy flow into it. If the property is sunken the energy is depleted and if it is on or above the normal ground level it is enhanced.
• Bedrooms the personal space to recharge and rejuvenate our body after a long days work. Hence the location of the bedrooms directly affects the health and emotional well-being of its occupants.
• Kitchen position in terms of the property and the stove location within the kitchen as the preparation of the food when it is cooked, transforms from one state to another in other words from Yin to Yang so the proper location of the stove in a prosperous sector of the house ensures the occupants are well nourished and healthy.
Now if you look at the toilet position, is it in line with the main door, here the chi rolls in to the property through the main door and flows into the toilet, not meandering and spreading throughout the building as normally desired. This will deprive the occupants off the positive benefits and is quite bad if the toilet door is less than 10 feet from the main door and in a line.
In case the building has a limitation in terms of relocating main doors or the toilet position is a problem the most powerful cure to balance the Yin and the Yang is to suspend 3 bagua coins in a red thread in the afflicted area to protect against bad and dirty energy imbalances. The secret of the protective bagua potency lies in the arrangement of the Eight Trigrams (derived from I-Ching or known as Book of Changes) is the pattern of change in our universe and its energy were formulated, with their transformation, recorded diagramically in the form of solid (yang) and (yin) lines called trigrams.
