The “Receptionist of the Year” competition is conducted annually by the “Amicale Internationale des Sous Directeurs et Chefs de Réception des Grand Hôtels (AICR)” or “The International Association of Deputy Managers and Front Office Managers of Luxury Hotels”. The Competition’s main objective is to be a training tool for the younger generation, the future AICR and the Hospitality Industry, with the emphasis on “Amicale” (friendliness).

Held with enormous support by KABA Lodging System as the main sponsor, the HFLA Jakarta as the host this year shared the vision on the importance of recognizing the next generation of front liners to be on top of their best, on par with their colleagues anywhere in the world. This event is one of the education messages that HFLA Indonesia is spreading.

Wulan Septiandari, won the title following written-and role play test held on the first day of the event, and convinced the panel of judges on the live interview session to vote for her over numbers of contestant from fine hotels in Bali, Bandung & Jakarta.

Winning the national championship, Wulan will represent Indonesia in the International competition held by AICR International in Hamburg, Germany on January 15 – 19, 2014 for the David Campbell Trophy.

Hotel Front Liners Indonesia had been participating in the international Receptionist of the Year for the past two year and this year will mark its third year participation. In the early 2013, Made Trisnadewi of The Legian by then, took the 2nd Runner Up spot and made the world aware of the potential of Indonesian Receptionist on the international stage.

It is with such achievement that Hotel Front Liners Association Indonesia would like to create awareness of the importance of the profession toward future generation, and to elevate the state of hotel Front Liners’ professionalism to be on par with their international colleague as sophisticated travelers are expected to flood Indonesia, especially Bali.
