Bali Toll Might be Temporarily Closed

As rainy season is coming along with strong wind, Bali Mandara Toll Road might be closed at anytimes.

Public Relations of PT Jasamarga Bali Tol, Drajad Hari Suseno, on Friday said that the temporary closing could be done based on the Regulation Number 15 of 2005. In Article 48 Paragraph 1 and 2 of the Regulation stated that, the toll could be temporarily closed halfway or all lines if the toll condition is dangerous for the road users.

“Now the condition is still safe, the visibility is good, so there is no closing at Bali Mandara toll,” said Drajad.

It was stated by Drajad as an explanation toward some queries from the road users, whether Bali toll is operating during the rainy season.

He said that, until now the toll condition is regarded as quite safe. Meanwhile, the closing had been done once since it was opened on November 17 for one hour and ten minutes “Now it is safe,” he said.

He explained that the temporary closing might be conducted if the weather is really bad, especially if the wind is so strong. When the wind velocity-monitoring device at JBT Communication Center shows 60 km/hour, the Communication center officers directly send message to all the field officials to warn all toll users in order to be careful.

However, if the wind velocity continuously increasing and the rain are getting heavier, so at 80 km/ hour the officers will totally close the road since it may dangerous for the people passing by. “On November 17th closing, we praise the officers’ alertness who immediately closed the toll as soon as the wind velocity at 145 km/hour,” he said.
