Feng Shui and Dragon Chi

Feng Shui recommends many methods to harness good energy and usher in prosperity into our lives. The Feng Shui analysis of a building is a complex piece of calculations, compass directions, analyzing the interaction of the five elements and cause and effect of the afflictions on the occupants and the building.

The Feng Shui compass itself is a unique, accurate and a valuable tool which reveals important aspects of the analysis of a specific place. The compass directions are classified further on the basis of the Chinese zodiac sign and the twelve animals are distributed around the dial such that each of them occupies a specific sector, element and aspiration.

One of the most important and powerful animal in the zodiac is the Dragon and in Feng Shui, the dragon is the most auspicious and magnificent, mightiest and most sacred of all creatures and often treated with great respect in the oriental culture. It is the fifth sign of the Chinese Zodiac and its intrinsic element is earth and occupies 97.5 degrees to 127.5 degrees of the compass scale. The allies for dragon are the rat and the Monkey and the secret friend is the Rooster.

The Dragon is also said to be one of the four celestial animals and represents the ultimate ‘Yang’ symbol, male vigor, courage and bravery. It is magnanimous and full of vitality and strength. Affiliated with the cardinal direction “East” based on Landscape Feng Shui, the figurine or an image of a Dragon becomes a very powerful and potent symbol when placed in this sector, although it can be placed in any other directions.

Most of the Chinese sculptures, statues and monuments have the symbol of dragon. They are either depicted holding a ball, or pearl which symbolizes success and victory in wealth attainment and career advancement.

Ina home or office dragons can be placed almost in any part of the building , however when oriented in some specific sectors it stimulates better results
• Those having their Chinese zodiac sign based on their Date of birth and time, will find it beneficial to place a figurine or image of a dragon in the East.
• Activate the dragon energy by placing a figurine in the East sector of your home or living room to bring in good health and harmony.
• In the advanced school of Fengshui analysis, the Dragon made from metal can be used to ward-off the evil influences, sickness, and ailments and also to prevent hostility, fights and mishaps as they are said to be potent in dissolving such energies.
• Having a figurine of Dragon in the North sector enhances career luck and also climbs the career ladder.

Learning the guidelines and tenets of  to Feng Shui  could be difficult and complicated and in the eastern hemisphere most of the successful business houses avail the guidance of a trained Feng Shui master who helps in designing a layout to enhance the possibilities of success and prosperity. Nevertheless, adapting some basic techniques of Feng Shui would do no harm if the right symbols are positioned at the right sectors.
