Barong and Rangda Enliven the North Europe Tourism Exhibition
Indonesian enlivened Matka 2014 North Europe tourism exhibition Nordic Travel Fair in Helsinki, Finland, by presenting Rangda and Barong, which attracted the visitors of the exhibition.
First Secretary of Information and Social Culture Affairs Indonesian Embassy for Helsinki, Made P Sentanajaya, said that the Matka 2014 Nordic Travel Fair was followed by 1,102 participants from 81 countries and visited by 76,000 visitors. Indonesia presented the theme of “Mystical Bali” by carrying Rangda and Barong as the main decoration.
The stand of Indonesian Embassy in Helsinki is designed along with the Balinese artists and Indonesian people in Finland with the presence of Rangda and Barong, which have its own magical power and able to attract the attention of visitors to at least stop and take pictures in front of the Indonesian booth.
Two Indonesian travel agents also intentionally came from Stockholm, Sweden to co-market the Indonesian tourism products in Finland market.
In addition to “Mystical Bali”, the presence of Indonesia during the Matka 2014 was also enlivened with Indonesian cultural performances.
Indonesian cultural performance presented by Bhinneka Indonesian dance group and Banyu Petak Indonesia consisting of Indonesian society in Finland by showing four dances namely Lenggang Nyai, Gaba – gaba, Jaipong and Puspa Meka for three days in a row.
According to Made P Sentanajaya , Barong was able to attract the attention of visitors to watch the Indonesian performance.Filed under: Travel & Culture
