Forecasts for week beginning Saturday, March 8, 2014.
By Jonathan Cainer
Jupiter has now completed the phase of retrograde motion that it began late last year. That’s not just good news for Sagittarians and Pisceans, it’s encouraging for anyone, of any sign, with entrepreneurial inclinations. Indeed, a forward moving planet of hope and expansion doesn’t just bode well for business. It implies a favourable climate for publishers and publicists, campaigners for justice and what I like to call ‘seekers of serendipity’. Many of us will soon notice a marked increase in the number of ‘convenient coincidences’ that somehow serve to help us feel as if we’re ‘going with the flow!
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
‘A watched pot never boils.’ ‘A stitch in time saves nine.’ ‘There’s many a slip ‘twixt cup and lip.’ ‘Patience is a virtue.’ Sorry if you are getting bored. I am just saying what I am supposed to say. Other astrologers say this kind of thing all the time. They are very wise. I feel much more inclined to say, ‘To hell with what I am supposed to say about what you are supposed to do.’ Who is doing all this supposing anyhow? Why don’t you just act on an impulse and follow a whim? You now feel a passion. Can it be healthy to suppress it?
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
Be kind. Be wise. Be big. And, of course, be happy. All these tasks are more easily advised than accomplished. When things are seemingly going our way, we can soon dispense generosity or give good advice or see the broader picture or smile. It’s not so simple, though, when someone or something is driving us crazy. But, then, what’s the alternative? To be mean, stupid, small-minded and miserable? Nothing in this world can ever justify anyone ending up in a state like that. Rise above whatever is getting to you this week.
GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
Take a deep breath. Then another. Gain your highest sense of perspective. Hold yourself in this state for as long as you can. But don’t expect it to be very long. An angle from Mercury to Saturn is sending waves of chaotic frustration rolling through your life. This week, whatever isn’t already swelling and swirling is likely to rise up and rock your boat even more intensely. But even if your compass goes briefly haywire, you will see a clear light in the distance you can safely follow. That’s your vision of the right thing to do.
CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
People love to judge one another. Given the slightest opportunity they make comparisons. It is doubtful whether the cosmos itself has quite so many strong opinions. The universe, after all, is a very big place with room for a lot of diversity. Is there actually an angel with a scorecard in some distant etheric realm watching us all carefully day and night whilst marking our progress? This week, don’t ask, ‘What am I entitled to?’ Ask instead, ‘What am I being given?’ The answer, as you are about to discover, is an awful lot.
LEO (July 24 – August 23)
You are not dealing with some theoretical issue. You are tackling a very real situation. In response to pressure, you have recently been exploring a lot of challenging ideas. None quite fit the reality you now face. Put aside whatever seemed so pressing and important before, while you respond to the need of the moment. Rigid policies only work when you apply them to known quantities. You, though, are dealing with uncertainties. Trust that your instinct now knows more about what’s going on than your intellect does.
VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
When people say they want money, what they really mean is that they want a sense of power… and security. When people say they want a wonderful love life, what they mean is that they want their hearts to be full of joy. We fix our minds on particular goals and objectives. We then get so caught up in our desires that we forget what it is we truly need. You may or may not acquire satisfaction by the obvious route this week, but if you are sincere and flexible, you will end up in a situation that pleases you greatly.
LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
These days, we are all psychologists. We have all read the self-help books. We all have opinions about what makes us the way we are. If we are not looking back to our childhood in an attempt to understand how our personalities were shaped, we are trying to release our hidden potential. Or to understand how we can communicate better. There is, though, a big difference between thinking things through and living a different dream. This week, one drop of inspired understanding will positively transform an ocean of experience.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
They say that, ‘To err is human, to forgive is divine.’ So, which of these two things are you? That’s a trick question. Within every human there is a spark of the divine. At the very essence of your being, there’s the same energy that powers the Sun, moves the Moon and causes the stars to shine. It’s your wisdom, your compassion, your ‘higher being’ that you now need to draw on if you are to make the right choice. Will that be difficult? No. This week, all you really have to do is to ‘want’ to access such understanding.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
There’s nothing wrong with a walk in the blistering heat if you’ve got some cool shade to retire to, any time you choose. If you get caught out in the rain, it’s hardly a problem as long as you know you can reach a warm shelter where dry clothes are waiting for you. It’s all a different matter if you are stranded in a desert or lost in a storm. There, in essence, is the question you now have to ask yourself. ‘Am I looking at a problem that has no solution?’ You are not. An inspiring way forward will yet reveal itself to you.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
We try hard to be even-handed. Well, some of us do. Some of us take pleasure in prejudice. But that’s another story. It’s certainly not your story. You care passionately about justice. Things don’t just have to seem fair; they absolutely must be fair. You invest a lot of time and energy into working out how you can achieve this. Are you now trying harder than you need to? No. You are doing something very wise and noble. In the end you can only benefit from the conscientious approach you are taking this week.
AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
Why are Aquarians so often depicted as intellectual, analytical and unemotional? In truth, they are nothing of the sort. So sensitive and idealistic are the people born under your sign that they have to go to great lengths to disguise and control their feelings. You try to place a thick, safe wall between your moods and your views. Sometimes, though, you inadvertently let a feeling through. Right now, you are not being quite as dispassionate as you think you are… or need to be. But you are safe to trust what you feel this week.
PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
‘We all agree that pessimism is a mark of superior intellect.’ So said the economist J K Galbraith. We must trust that he had his tongue in his cheek at the time because otherwise, everyone’s got an excuse. Hoping for something? Stop hoping. You can’t have it. Trying to accomplish anything? Give up, it will never happen. Happy with this view? You should not be, for the planets insist that regardless of how things seem, you can now get more of what you need as long as you stop allowing yourself to be talked out of this.
