Forecasts for week beginning Saturday April 12, 2014.

By Jonathan Cainer

Welcome to a powerful, historic, potentially life-changing week. It brings a total lunar eclipse plus a rare ‘Grand Cross’ shape of heavenly bodies between the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. These are considered to imbue the qualities of initiative and leadership. Uranus in Aries now forms a right angle to Jupiter in Cancer which in turn forms a right angle to Mars in Libra which squares the circle once more in an angle to tiny but mighty Pluto in Capricorn. This should be seen by us all as a week where anything positive is possible.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
During a Lunar Eclipse, the Earth’s shadow passes between the Sun and the Moon. Briefly, the Moon is plunged into darkness. It can no longer reflect the glorious light of our star. This week’s Lunar Eclipse will be in your opposite sign and it may already seem to you as if a light has gone out in your life. But Mars, the traditional ruler of Aries, is about to form part of a Grand Cosmic Cross involving Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto, too. A great sense of renewal will come, as a fading faith is replaced by a new bright belief.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
Hold up your fingers on both hands. How many digits can you count? No, not ten – eleven! I’ll show you. Hold up your right hand. Now, count down from ten, starting with your thumb. I’ll do it with you: ten, nine, eight, seven, six, OK, very good. Now hold up your other hand. Count those. One, two, three, four, five. Right. Add the five to the six and what do you get? Similarly, dubious accounting procedures are being employed somewhere in your world. That’s why some explanations just don’t add up! Think again this week.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
‘There’s a whole lot of things that I’ve never done, but I ain’t never had too much fun. ‘ So sang Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, in a fine old country song, which sums up the mood you may soon be entering. Are you in danger of getting too much of a good thing? Are you going too far, overstepping a crucial mark and storing up trouble by being indulgent? Or are you thoroughly entitled to feel fine? There probably is a line to be drawn. While you are too sensible to ignore this, consider drawing it higher rather than lower!

CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
This week, many people all over the world will be gazing in awe at a total Lunar Eclipse. The Moon, of course, rules your sign. The symbolism here suggests that you have no hiding place. A part of you likes to receive attention, but only when it can choose what the rest of the world sees. You feel you are having to reveal more about yourself than you would ever really want to. Far from making you vulnerable, though, this is enabling you to end a pretence that has long been unnecessary – and to make more realistic plans.

LEO (July 24 – August 23)
You deserve at least a round of applause, if not a standing ovation. Over recent months, you have coped well with highly challenging factors. You may feel more conscious of what you suspect you have done wrong than of what you have managed to get right. But who else, in a similar situation, could possibly have done any better? Whether or not you get suitably congratulated by others, you should pause and pat yourself on the back before rising to the new challenge that presents itself this week, with the total Lunar Eclipse.

VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
If you want to get a picture of the kind of week you are entering, think of it as a time when swirling mists of chaos descend to shroud the daily landscape in clouds of consternation and confusion. Those who stand still will soon become enveloped in fog. Those who run around worrying will simply grow lost. But Virgos stand stable, thanks to a positive resonance with the coming Grand Cross in cardinal signs. Life will soon help you to find the best way forward by ascending a hill to see clearly over the valleys.

LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
People often learn far more when they disagree, than they do when they somehow strive to live in a state of bland, neutral acceptance. There is nothing wrong with having a problem. We can profit far more from rising to a challenge, than from taking the obvious, easy route. The issue is not, ‘What is going on?’ It is, ‘How are you handling it?’ Are you accepting a situation in good faith or are you rejecting it? This week’s powerful Grand Cosmic Cross, plus a Lunar Eclipse in your sign can promote great healing.

SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
You have some good tricks up your sleeve. There are certain techniques that you have refined over many years of practice and can now apply successfully to most situations. In amongst these, there is one that will definitely help you to overcome your current difficulty. If you can’t immediately see what this is – or if you have been surprised to find that your immediate choice of method isn’t working, don’t worry. Pluto’s role in the Grand Cosmic Cross helps you to see the full extent of your hidden power this week.

SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
‘Concentrate. Focus. Think hard. Chocolate. Pay attention. Work. Detail. Diligence. Haircuts. Responsibility. Commitment. Dedication. Dance music…’ It is not always easy to keep our minds fixed on a single matter. We are bound to be distracted and it is inevitable that events will oblige us to divide our time. Do not be too hard on yourself if, this week, you cannot achieve all you want to. Just do your best. But, despite the influence of the Grand Cosmic Cross, remember that if it contains no fun, it will not be your best.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
You are now being challenged to give a vague idea some shape and substance. Dare you assert a little authority? Can you invite others to trust your judgement, to follow your lead or to carry out your plan? Ought you to be proposing something safer and more ‘sensible’? Answer these questions yourself, but keep in mind that, like it or not – despite your fears and doubts, you are strong and have a unique contribution to make. As the Grand Cosmic Cross unfolds, you will find your vision, right now, has genuine merit.

AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
Should we really let sleeping dogs lie? Or are there times when we simply have to ring the changes regardless of our reservations? You must now make your own decision about an important matter. Neither I, nor anyone else, can tell you what to do. If, on balance, you decide to leave things as they are, no one will blame you. You may well discover this is the ideal thing to do. And if you take a brave step into the unknown, this too could prove highly productive under the influence of the Grand Cosmic Cross.

PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Shakespeare wrote about, ‘A tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing’. He may well have been inspired by a similar situation to one that you now face as the world responds to the influence of the rare Grand Cosmic Cross. A lot of dramatic gestures or statements are being made. You strongly suspect that most of these are irrelevant. It’s hard not to be drawn into an argument. Trust your own instinctive feelings about a certain matter. It’s really not as urgent or important as certain people seem to think.
