Karangasem Need to Establish New Tourism Object

A tourism observer and practitioner stated that Karangasem Regency, Bali need to establish new attraction to increase the number of tourists’ visit both domestic and foreign more than in 2013, which reach 461,515 people.

According to Tjokorda Gede Agung in Denpasar, Karangasem nature is still fresh and beautiful so that the travelers choosing the area as a place to look for a new, more serene and comfortable atmosphere from the urban frenzy.

Natural attractions that need to be developed in Karangasem include tracking to Mount Agung through Sebudi village, develop two waterfalls, which located in Duda village and Selumbung village.

Besakih Temple, the largest temple for Hindus in Bali plus its supporting natural conditions, spiritual tourism should also be developed entitled The Fibration of Peace.

Besakih Temple is located at the foot of Mount Agung, received as many as 101,213 people visitors during 2013 consisted of 86,626 foreign travelers more than domestic tourists that was only 14,587 people.

Based on the Record of Bali Tourism Department, Tulamben Beach gets the second most visited that was 73,135 people, mostly foreigners who did water sports such as diving while enjoying the panoramic view of the underwater world.

Taman Ujung, the location of the royal family bathing in the past, visited more by domestic travelers as many as 84,368 people, 24,853 foreign visitors so it was recorded 109,221 people in total during 2013.

The crowded tourist arrivals to Karangasem will affect local revenues that reach Rp22, 4 billion in 2013 and that number is expected to increase according to the growth of the tourism sector in 2014.
