Forecasts for week beginning Saturday June 21, 2014.

By Jonathan Cainer

Solstice Greetings! For those in the Southern Hemisphere, this is when the Sun reaches its winter turning point. In the North it is summer. But wherever you are, this is a moment to greet with gratitude. A time when hope becomes more believable and hearts can rekindle enthusiasm for life’s wonderful, if sometimes arduous, journey. Astrologers and druids often celebrate it in a special dawn ceremony. But wherever you are this week… take a moment to glance up and recognise the magic and majesty of the sky. Let it, in turn, support the magic and majesty of your heart.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20)
Any genius can make a mistake but only a fool then sees that mistake as irreparable. How did you get into a tricky situation? Whose fault is it? What can be done? These questions, with the possible exception of the last, are irrelevant. Regardless of all that you may wish were different, you are in a glorious position. The opposition between Mars and Uranus now enables you to undo all or any recent damage and turn trouble to triumph. Exercise your discrimination. Draw on your inner wisdom. It’s actually going to be a great week.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)
For quite some while now, you have been coming up against reasons why certain things can’t happen. Explanations that may, or may not, also be excuses. Apologies that contain just a little too much justification for your liking. Now, you are starting to see things from a different perspective and you are also starting to see movement at last. Currently a slow, but positive trickle of change is heading your way. Soon, it will become a rushing river. This Solstice week is an opportunity to put the past behind you.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 22)
Opportunity can often be unnerving. When there is no choice, there is no chance of making a mistake. Yet you have many options and alternatives to choose between at the moment. What if you go down the wrong road? What if you make a decision that later turns out to be unwise? The simple answer is, you will not do such a thing! Take a good, close look at a very attractive possibility that now lies before you. You will find your intuition is in fine form this Solstice week, and serendipity is on your side.

CANCER (June 23 – July 23)
Inevitably, the truth will come out in the end, no matter how hard anyone tries to hide it. But if you don’t want it to be the end, when it comes out in the end, make sure that it is brought out in the beginning. It is essential, this Solstice week, to have an honest exchange. But how can you do that if there is prejudice or resentment? Put aside what you feel – and what you think. Be open to the idea that, even if all cards are placed on the table, everything can be and will be fine. You don’t have to have full agreement to ease a difficult situation.

LEO (July 24 – August 23)
Have you any idea how important you are? You are important. You do matter. Many people’s lives would be dramatically different if you weren’t around. You’re a positive influence – a mover, a shaker, a stirrer and an awakener. Though some complain about the things you do and say, they’d all sorely miss you if you ever went away. Yet you’re now experiencing an uncharacteristic spate of shyness. It’s not appropriate and it ill becomes you. Don’t shrink. Don’t retreat. Be sure of yourself this Solstice week.

VIRGO (August 24 – September 23)
People so thoroughly enjoy expressing their opinions that they hardly care whether these are based on supposition. Some even prefer speculative conversations because these provide a greater opportunity to theorise. Why hold a brief exchange of accurate information when you can bluff? Unless, of course, you happen to be a Virgo, in which case all you ever want to know is the actual score. Mercury retrograde in your tenth solar house says, ‘This week, it’s time to stop listening to what someone is saying and start watching what they’re doing.’

LIBRA (September 24 – October 23)
Sometimes you get a little too set in your ways. Then somehow, the cosmos has to help you loosen up a little. Think of the way that an avalanche slowly gains momentum. Once it gets past a certain point, there’s no stopping it. In one way, you are keen to bring about a change. In another, you are reluctant. I am tempted to say, make up your mind; but there’s no point in being decisive unless you are going to decide in favour of embracing a courageous choice. Because that’s ultimately what you’ve got to make!

SCORPIO (October 24 – November 22)
This is it! The time you have been waiting for. The future you have been dreaming of. The beginning of the great, delightful, change that you have desired and deserved for so long. You do feel that way, don’t you? You are not by any chance apprehensive about the new era being heralded by this week’s Solstice? Well, if you are, I understand. You have had a lot to contend with lately but that’s still no reason to fear tough times ahead. You are about to find that you have blessings to count and real reasons to trust tomorrow.

SAGITTARIUS (November 23 – December 21)
The trouble with finance, as we all keep rediscovering, is that we only have one sum of money yet there are several places where it seemingly all needs to go. Much the same can be said about our heart and our time. Everyone appears to want something from you now. You can, spend your whole time worrying about the impossible situation in which you find yourself this week. Nobody will stop you from doing any of this. But it really is not necessary. One way or another, as long as you do your best, everything will work out well.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
Strangely, scholars cherish the Greek myths and legends yet pay far less heed to the tales of deities from other cultures. The British, for example, never gave Arthur and his knights of the Round Table as much respect as they gave to the Roman god Zeus. Woven deep into the folklore of every land are tales of heroes, heroines, visionaries and dreamers. They are not there to provide distraction, but for inspiration. You are now entitled to see yourself as an epic adventurer. Your story is taking a new twist. Be brave.

AQUARIUS (January 21 – February 19)
Some people love to complicate simple situations. You ask them a question, they ask you another in reply. You tell them your plan; then they tell you why another plan might be better. You recently thought that you knew what you were doing about a particular matter. Now you are no longer so sure. Have you really come across a reason to alter your approach? Or is this week’s sharp alignment from Mars to your ruler just undermining your confidence? Separate an anxious attitude from an actual statement of fact.

PISCES (February 20 – March 20)
Who do we think we are? We act as if we own this Earth. Even when we are vividly reminded of how nature’s power is far greater than our own, it hardly dents our arrogance. In complete denial of the all-too-obvious truth, we judge ourselves – and each other. We imagine that, somehow, we can flawlessly identify all the rights and unfailingly distinguish them from all the wrongs. Someone in your world is now talking tough because they feel so weak – and acting big because they feel so small. Go gently this Solstice week.
