PHRI Bali Expects a President with Tourism Knowledge

GIANYAR ~

Chairman of the Council of Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, expected the elected president and vice president later to have an understanding in favor of the tourism sector.

“Therefore, whoever the president will have to be able to maintain security because the security is a fixed price for the tourism industry,” he said on Wednesday.

Not only that, according to the former Regent of Gianyar Regency who is familiarly called Cok Ace wanted the incoming government can guarantee security on the island of Bali.

“Bali has contributed a lot to the national foreign exchange and tourism has become a basic requirement of this island community,” said Cok Ace.

He saw development in Bali still seem chaotic, even the there is disparity between the southern and northern regions. “Competition of tourist accommodation business is not healthy too,” he said.

Therefore, it is not surprising that social problem in Bali has yet been resolved, as there are still many poor family and beggars everywhere.

So far the two vice-president partners, ie Prabowo -Hatta Rajasa and Joko Widodo -Kalla, have not shown concern for the tourism sector, especially in Bali.
