Gili Island

Gili Island is three small islands between Lombok and Bali. They are famous for the crystal blue water, the sea turtles and one of the favorite destinations of the numerous backpackers going there to make party and relax.

Once you are in Bali, you can access those islands from Padangbai (east of Bali). It takes you only 1h30 by speedboat and cost you between 850.000 and 1.200 000 Indonesian Rupiah for return trip.

Once you arrive there, you can see the difference with Bali: no pollution. Indeed there are no scooters or cars on Gili island, only walk, bike or horse-drawn carriage. A perfect holiday start. Gili is a paradise island which found how to please everyone. Once you get off the boat, you have two choices: going on the left to luxury villas and resorts or going on the right which offers mostly homestay and backpackers. If you stay on the main road it is a bit more expensive due to the beachfront view. Backpackers looking for cheap accommodations must go more inland. You have beautiful resort on the islands which allows you to dream even more.

The crystal blue water is perfect to go snorkeling or diving. From the main road, plenty of snorkel equipment is on disposal for

only 30,000Rp (snorkel and fins).

You can also visit the next two islands which are Gili Meno and Gili Air. They are wilder.

Gili island is a wonderful place to spend holidays. The Indonesian, there are Muslim and truly friendly. You can enjoy a wonderful sunset from the Aston Resort which is partner with Bali je t’aime agency. You can ask the agency to organize your stay from Bali. They book for you the taxi, the boat, the accommodation and activities on the island depending on your expectations.

Leaving Gili will be the hardest thing you had to do for a long time. Get there and be ready for unforgettable holidays.
