Bali Needs New Tourist Destinations
Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika emphasized to tourism stakeholders on the island that the region requires a new tourist destination in order to remain attractive to tourists.
“We will lose our markets if we continue to be like this. Therefore, at this time whether we will be oriented to the future or the past all depends on us, let us fight together,” said Pastika when meeting with stakeholders of tourism, in Denpasar on Wednesday.
Pastika also stated that when the tourists come, they always see the same thing, that is the reason why these travelers are bored and will reduce the interest of their visit to Bali.
On the other hand, he emphasized the need to know the preferences and interests of tourists. “We have to develop in accordance with the development of the tourism market today,” he said.
According to him, there are still a lot of tourism potential that can be developed in Bali and it is in demand by tourists.
He cited the sport tourism and medical tourism. “Those also should be able to be developed and I am sure it will attracts tourists,” he said.
Related to Bali Tourism Regulation according to Pastika it is a time to renew it. Governor Pastika expected the support of stakeholders to jointly provide a solution for the development of Bali to future tourism.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Regional Tourism Promotion Agency in Bali, Cokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati said his party has been trying to keep the promotion of Bali to always run well, but the future of tourism in Bali should immediately fixed eventhough until April 2015 although there is still an increase in tourism traffic reached 3, 2 percent from the previous year.
Cokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati also conveyed the constraints of Bali tourism especially on Bali’s tourism development future direction. Currently , Bali’s tourism is still based on the culture tourism.
Chairman of Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) Bali Ida Bagus Ngurah Wijaya stated the importance of the meeting to convey and discuss how the future development of tourism in Bali and efforts that should be made to overcome the problems of tourism.
Wijaya also reported that currently the Ministry of Cooperatives and SME have worked together with GIPI Bali to provide training to the SME and hopefully will be able to build SME in Bali.
“Today many things are related to tourism that are expected to also to take part in the development of tourism in Bali,” he said.Filed under: Headlines
