Work Ethic of Bali Hospitality Industry Needs to be Improved

Association of Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Bali expects the perpetrators of the hospitality industry, one of the front liners can improve his work ethic to face the upcoming Asean Economic Community.

Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, Bali PHRI chairman, said there are two things to note that in terms of technical ability then for a certificate of competence that must be possessed to face the competition later.

“We’re competent not only in our country. With these MEAs will give space to the MEA members together with China to participate,” he said in Denpasar on Monday (10/19/2015).

He said there are three things needed to excel, first knowledge of formal education obtained by the Balinese already outstanding, then the environment .

“The third is their work ethic that it is still quite low. It should be considered and should be improved in order to later be able to compete with workers from outside Indonesia,” he explained.

By MEA will have to be careful, he said, especially with workers coming from Singapore and Malaysia because they have mastered the language of communication.

“We hope, with meetings and routine competency test can improve and measure the position.”
