SBY Meets Iceland President in Bali

The Bali Times

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono arrived in Bali on Monday morning and met with volcano-embattled Icelandic President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson as a global conference on geothermal energy got underway at the Westin resort in Nusa Dua.

Indonesia – the world’s most volcanic nation with over 130 active volcanoes, two of which are in Bali – is to present at the meeting a case for energy tapped from volcanic power.

The State Palace said Yudhoyono, known popularly by his initials SBY, discussed with Grímsson Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokul volcano, whose emissions of vast clouds of ash grounded airplanes in Europe last week and caused global travel chaos.
