A moderate earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck Bali early on Friday but there were no reports of injuries or damage.
The quake hit at 8.24am 320 kilometres southwest of the Nusa Dua tourist enclave on the island’s southernmost tip, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.
The tectonic movement occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres below the earth’s surface.
There was no potential for a tsunami, the agency added.
