Argentine Man Found Floating in a Bali Waterfall

BULELENG – An Argentine man was found dead floating in Cemara Waterfall in Wanagiri Forest, Buleleng regency in Bali on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old, identified by his initial PA, ran into the woods as he was allegedly depressed.

Gede Darmada, Head of Bali National Search and Rescue Agency ( Basarnas), said that the victim and 20 other family members were camping near the forest on Sunday.

The next day, Darmada added, when everyone was about to go home, PA ran into the forest. His family then reported the matter to Basarnas and this was followed by a search.

“PA was experiencing depression, so he did something risky. A team of residents and police carried out the search,” Darmada said in a statement on November 17.

He said Basarnas deployed seven personnel to search in the river near the camp at 11:55am local time.

About 20 minutes later, the victim was found dead floating not far from the waterfall. At 12.40pm local time the body was evacuated and brought to a Buleleng hospital by the Red Cross ambulance.

The cause of death is still under investigation.
