Bangkok – Meditation Master Acharavadee Wongsakon has seen the future and it’s not looking good. The problem that Acharavadee has seen clearly in her meditation, is rapid Global Warming as a result of the Internet. Master Acharavadee is a Buddhist Meditation Master who has mediated an astounding 17,ooo hours. According to Wongsakon’s book GLOBAL WARMING CRISIS – AND AN UNSPOKEN TRUTH – things are not looking good for our world.
The culprit as it turns out is all those selfies, pictures and useless data we create every day to fill up our social media accounts.
Acharavadee coined the term INTERNET INDUCED CLIMATE CHANGE to describe what she envisions will happen to the world if we do not wake up. According to Wongsakon all those selfies, instant messages, emails and unnecessary data that the world is producing daily, is leading to accelerated Global Warming and Climate Change. This is because most of this data and our social media accounts are stored on Cloud servers, which require an ever growing amount of electricity. And where does electricity come from? Unfortunately, the answer is the majority is still generated from fossil fuels (oil and coal).
Anyone following the stock market or reading Forbes Magazine these days, can see that Cloud storage has become huge business. Companies like Amazon, Google and Microsoft are all competing for your cloud storage demands. The term Cloud Wars is used to describe the fierce competition for your data. Giant Data centers known as “Data Farms” in concert with social media companies like Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, are enticing members to post and repost data at ever increasing rates. As these Cloud storage companies grow so does their demand for fossil fuel derived electricity, fed by the endless stream of data that we are encouraged to create everyday.
The Internet was meant to educate the world on Global Warming and Climate Change. But ironically it is the internet that is causing the planet to heat up at an alarming rate. We are feeding the Internet with all those selfies and storing unnecessary data, not realizing that is will eventually lead to destruction of our climate and our own demise.
According to the Guardian Newspaper by 2025 Cloud servers and their Data farms will use one 20 percent of the world’s energy consumption. And this figure is expected to grow exponentially over the next decade. Internet Induced Climate Change leads to Global warming, due to the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which causes the planet to heat up and at the same time affects human cognitive ability.
According to Acharavadee this is a battle for our planet, but also our minds.
“It is up to each one of us to be mindful of our used of the internet and stop feeding these cloud storage facilities with unnecessary digital data, and thereby reduce the energy waves and heat”, says the mediation master. This means deleting unnecessary emails, selfies and social media posts, thereby reducing the demand for cloud storage and reducing the energy waves produced by cloud storage and heat that are now causing world temperatures to rise to catastrophic levels.
“If all of us would spend 15 minutes a day deleting unnecessary digital data from social media and old emails, the world would cool down “ implores Acharavadee Wongsakon
