Policeman Reported for Molesting Child

A police officer was reported to Bali Police headquarters for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old child.

The police officer, identified as Timbul Sarana Raharja, was reported to have molested the child (identified as YI), and blackmailed and embezzled the victim and her mother.

Timbul and the mother, MS, 37, were known to have been romantically involved. They had been dating for four years and planned to tie the knot soon.

The alleged child molesting began in March 2012 when the victim’s mother was not at their home on Jl. Nusa Indah in Denpasar.

The victim had been close to Timbul, her mother’s lover, and had even called him “Papa”.

“We are here to report three cases,” said Siti Sapura, the victim’s lawyer.

Timbul allegedly sexually molested the child five times.

“The child was so afraid and covered the policeman’s wrongdoings,” the lawyer said.

He had also frequently asked the mother to give him hundreds of millions of rupiah to continue his police training.

After completing his police training, Timbul did not show up in Bali.

He is currently stationed at the Bantul police precinct in Yogyakarta.

Timbul’s alleged wrongdoings were uncovered last November. The mother was suspicious that her lover already had a wife named Sarah.

“The cases were reported to Bali headquarters as they occurred here in Bali,” the lawyer said.
